Luxury ship from the Marshall Islands anchors in the city with cruisers from Europe and the United States
This Friday (14), Cabo Frio’s seas welcomed the arrival of the Marshall Islands-flagged Seven Seas Splendor. With around 760 passengers on board, mostly from Europe and the United States, the international visitors disembarked in the city and visited places such as the Passagem, Praia do Forte and Rua dos Biquínis, as well as enjoying a bilingual reception with local artisans. From various points in the city, such as Forte São Mateus, Mirante do Arpoador and the Praia do Forte waterfront, tourists and locals recorded the ship’s arrival.

Welcoming the captain, the mayor of Cabo Frio, Dr. Serginho, and the secretaries of Tourism, Davi Barcelos, and Economic Development, Marcelo Dusi, were on board for the traditional exchange of plaques, a symbolic gesture of receptivity and hospitality to the crew and passengers.
“Cabo Frio is the most beautiful city in the world, and we are working tirelessly to strengthen our municipality with orderly, quality tourism. These tourists come to Cabo Frio and boost local commerce, they leave here and promote our city as a tourist destination based on their experiences. It’s a pleasure to welcome this ocean liner as a milestone in the evolution and economic development we want for our city,” said the mayor.

Inside the ship, the captain received a miniature trawler from Cabo Frio and a carved picture of a blue marlin, as well as a letter of welcome. The municipal tourism manager highlighted the work to consolidate Cabo Frio as a favorable destination for transatlantic routes.
“This stopover by the ocean liner is of great importance for the movement of tourism in the city and for the logistics of embarkation and disembarkation, especially with the new anchorage point. We are bringing tourists to Cabo Frio who are willing to consume in the city, contemplate and appreciate our natural beauty. We will continue working to attract new stopovers, consolidating Cabo Frio as a strategic destination on maritime routes. I would like to thank all the secretariats and security agents who were with us during this operation, which ended without any problems,” said Davi Barcelos.

Anchored in Praia do Forte, the ship arrived in Cabo Frio from Rio de Janeiro. The tourists stayed in the city throughout the morning and afternoon. At dusk, the luxury ship made its way to Salvador, the capital of Bahia.
The international visit also marked the testing of a new anchorage point for ocean liners, reducing the journey and transhipment time to the terminal from 25 minutes to just 12 minutes, which will facilitate the arrival of new stopovers in Cabo Frio.
